Loch Fishing

Our beautiful lochs provide some of the most challenging sport in the north west Highlands.

        Loch Guide

Loch Cam is a wonderful Loch to fish. It is full of small bays and islands, which offer shelter to the angler as well as plenty of feed for the trout. At its deepest it runs down to 125 feet with ferox caught to 16 1/2 lbs.

Set at the heart of the estate, Loch Uragil is teeming with trout. It is a perfect place to take beginners. The Loch is 12 ft deep with plenty of burns entering the loch and close to where the Loch flows out there is a deep bowl that runs down to 90 ft.

Loch Veyatie is a magnificent loch, sandwiched between the beautiful mountains of Cul Mor and Suilven. It offers excellent trout fishing and is also renowned for ferox as mentioned in Ron Greer’s book, Ferox Trout. The Loch is over 4 1/2 miles long and over 150 ft deep in places.

Loch Lurgainn, situated 5 miles south of Ledmore in Ross-Shire, boasts fine wild brown trout fishing as well as ferox, char, salmon and sea trout. Stac Pollaidh provides a sensational back drop.

        Fishing Tackle

All traditional wet flies are successful on the lochs.

We find that black flies tend to work very well e.g. Black Pennel, Black Zulu, Bibio, Other notable patterns include Loch Ordie, Goats Toe, Muddler Minnow and Grouse & Claret.
